Whenever I am not traveling overseas but traveling locally, I prefer driving no matter how far is the distance. This is because whenever I am driving, I feel completely free. I can stop whenever I want and wherever I want.

I also prefer driving because I can enjoy the picturesque views along the way. I especially enjoy traveling by car along the forest areas enjoying the greens. You can say I am a nature type of person. Traveling by car always fascinates me because you can always look at so many different things.

Although it is great to travel by car but traveling by car also has its hassles. You can plan your travel well but anything can happen along the way such as car tyre puncture or running out of fuels. So be prepared for the unexpected if you are going to travel by car anywhere.

If you are going to go on a long driving, make sure you have given your car for proper service and make sure your car have enough of fuel until the next stop for refueling. Always have extra tyre and the toolbox needed to change the punctured tyre.

Long distance traveling by car also can cause extreme tiredness and you may need to stop for rest. If the driving out to the location you are heading will take you some days, you might want to put up in a motel. If not you may want to bring along your camping equipments so that you can just camp out somewhere along the way.

If you are bringing your children, make sure to stop regularly at proper places so that they can go to the bathroom. You may also want to bring along extra snacks or foods as children tend to get hungry faster compared to the adults. Always have plenty of water ready for drinking as well as washing purpose.

The other thing people often forget during long distance travel by car is the first aid medical kit. I always have one in my car in case something goes wrong. We don’t want anything to go wrong during our journey but it’s always good to be prepared.

Don’t forget your mobile phone. It’s a life saver, especially if you are stuck in a lone highway in a remote place. Make sure you are using a phone line that has a wide coverage and also make sure you have enough of credits in your phone if you are using a prepaid type of line subscription.

If it is the first time you are going to travel by car to that place, make sure you know the road. If you don’t know, get a map and bring it with you. Also make sure you know how to read the map properly so that you can predict the distance and approximate time it will take for you to reach from one location to another location according to your driving speed.

Lastly, fasten your seat belt, drive safely and abide by the law. Even if you are driving through a remote road where there are no other vehicles, it doesn’t mean you can break the speed limits. There is a good reason why you are only given a specific speed limit at certain places. It’s to keep you safe. So take care of your safety.
