I cannot think of anyone who could not enjoy a vacation or a holiday but if there is anyone, here is something you should know: any travel or vacation can me made fun or enjoyable just like how you make something uninteresting become interesting through the use of creativity.

That’s right! If you are creative enough, you can make any vacation become enjoyable. It’s all about planning and doing what you love to do while you are in your vacation. It starts with excitement. You have to be excited about your vacation.

The only way you can become excited about your travel is through knowing that you can have fun or enjoy your travel; that it is really in your own hand to make it fun or boring. If you know you are the one who creates your experience, you can have a positive attitude to plan for a enjoyable vacation.

You can begin by doing research about the place you are going to visit. Check out about the activities you can do while you are there. If for example, you love to read, how about visiting a local library and see what you can find to read there?

Many people don’t do this type of traveling. They follow what have been planned for them by their travel agent. I have found that if you can do enough of research, you can pretty much plan your own interesting activities which are not included in the travel itinerary provided by your travel agent.

Well, there are really a lot of uncommon things you can do that ordinary travelers don’t do. For example, if you are a women who loves cooking, how about taking up a one day cooking course at your vacation place?

You can find out through the Internet by visiting travel review websites, if there are anyone willing to teach some local recipes or if there are any cooking schools nearby the area you are visiting. Now, how about that, learning to cook local delicacies? This gets even more interesting if you are an European or American who is traveling to Asian countries.

So you see… it’s all about planning your activities for your vacation. Sometimes you don’t even have to plan anything. You just have to visit the country and enjoy the different landscapes, beaches, islands, culture, people, buildings, monuments, shopping places, etc. You can even visit their local wet markets and see how they do their business.

That’s what I do in my travels. I go for the common activities the local people do daily. This way, I learn more about the people and the country I am visiting. Sometimes I get lucky when people directs me to uncommon and interesting places normal tourist will not go. If you want to achieve this, you have to communicate with the locals.

Of course, being a stranger, it wont be easy to communicate with the locals but if you have learned some of their language, they usually will like you. One thing I learned is that most people in their country honor their language highly and if you can speak one or two words in their language, they will be very happy about it.

Just don’t over do it. Be yourself and be friendly. Follow and respect the local customs. As you give respect to their customs and culture, they will respect you back in return. This is why it is very important to do proper research about the customs and culture of a country you are visiting.

So, think about what you can do while you are in the country you are going to visit and plan your activities properly; you are sure to enjoy your travel.
